  The Glorious Finale
Singapore Idol Final Show
As the saying goes, time flies. "Wow." I guess this is the one word that can sum this 3-month long Singapore Idol project all up. It all began with a simple email from RippleVox. Then came the weekly interviews at Mediacorp, filming at the Starhub Road show and finally, attending the final showdown performance at the Singapore Indoor Stadium. I've practically grown up these 3 months with the Singapore Idol show, the traveling and making new friends was really a great experience for me.

This project has taught me a lot about reporting. I've learnt that no matter what others say, always probe and always ask to get the lowdown on everything. Armed with my notebook, I attended the Singapore Idol press conference that was held right after the results were announced. This conference was attended by many other media professionals, and from what I've gathered, I was the youngest around! So without further a due, let me provide you guys with the juiciest information about this final showdown.

This press conference was held right after the results show for a brief 15mins. Li Li, from mediacorp escorted the RippleVox entourage to the private conference room where the event was going to be held. I was fortunate to be able to sneak in one question within such a short frame of time. I enquired about the direction of the upcoming album and how would the music be like. Ken Lim replied comfortably that the management will look into what the supporters like about Hardy and start from there. Well, the best part of this final showdown extravaganza was not the press conference I attended, but the after-show party which I was invited to!

This party had free flow of drinks (I'm above 18, don't worry!), food and the very delicious chocolate fudge cake! Food aside, this party was attended by celebrities, media professionals, the Idol finalists, the hosts and many many more! It was one hell of a party and I socialize and talked to a gazillion people of all professions. Being able to hang out with everyone at this private post-show party is the ticket to my ultimate dream. It was absolutely beyond what words can describe. I'll let the photos speak for themselves!

With that, I officially conclude the whole Singapore Idol project! Its been fun reporting for RippleVox these 3 months and getting behind the scenes and attending the press conferences. In fact, life seems kind of weird and empty without right now, without the weekly scheduled interviews and traveling. This whole project had really been an eye opener for me and of course, meeting many new people and making new friends. I thank all of you for constantly reading this section and being supportive of the whole project.

Before I sign off, remember to check back here often for updates on my next big project with RippleVox! For now, I shall take a good rest and prepare for the Cambridge examinations in a month's time!

Till then,
Francis
