Editor's Note: Francis was not able to attend this interview due to another engagement; he'll be back next week reporting from the final show.
"I'll be back!" promised Paul Twohill.
That's the deepest impression the never-say-die-Paul-Twohill gave me.
The ousted Singapore Idol contestant Paul Twohill was friendly, chatty and very cute throughout the 20-minute interview.
It was my first assignment with RippleVox and I felt honoured to be chosen as the journalist to conduct an interview with Paul Twohill. It was most unexpected that Paul Twohill was ousted from the Singapore Idol contest as many cried their eyeballs out that night.
Paul initially wanted to be a singer and meet Britney Spears in Hollywood when he started his singing stint in his primary school choir. However, singing became more significant where he appreciated himself more as he continued singing into his secondary school years.
Now 17, Paul has plans to go into hosting, do gigs and try out other aspects of the entertainment industry. He also hopes to either take the mass communications course in Ngee Ann Polytechnic or the communications and media management course in Temasek Polytechnic, gaining more knowledge about the entertainment industry.
Although Paul goes into a Zen mood in his quiet moments, his playful nature overtook when asked about his intention of showing his butt on national TV. Paul commented that he would write something on his butt if he was given a chance to do it again on Live Broadcast, an answer which made everyone in the room laugh.
Despite being ousted from the Singapore Idol contest, he was touched when thirty fans followed him back to Hangout that fateful night. Paul felt the gesture from the fans was "heartwarming", as they stood by him till the end. His message to his lovely fans: "Please miss me. I love you guys."
The Singapore Idol contest had given him many memories. Besides seeing a lot of reality, and becoming more mature, Paul had bonded with a lot of people on the show. He had grown attached to the people in the show and would miss Jasmine the most. . He is already missing the crew and everyone he had worked with in the show. Even though the judges had scared and freaked him out at some point of time during the contest, he still thanked them from the bottom of his heart.
"I am leaving with no regrets," said Paul Twohill.
