  Getting in the Game Again
Rachel interview Starhub Master Series
Two Times Lucky! ......
Just barely a month after my first stint as a Ripplevox reporter for Episode 2: SGGA Gamer's Party, I received another invitation from Brent from Ripplevox to do another round at the Starhub Master Series, Battlefield 2 on the 27th August 2006.

...... and $8,000 bucks is a lot of mooolaah!
Lucky me! So there I was back at E2Max Cineleisure, with familiar faces Daniel from MTV Pop Inc and Brent. My job was to observe and interview the two 8-men team finalists who will be battling it out in the game Battlefield 2 for a WHOPPING prize of $8,000! So we've got BF.Nut vs Mixed.Nut hmmm ......

Well one thing for sure this time round, I got the same amount of fun, minus half the stress, since I didn't have to focus on anything else unlike previously, and of course being my second time a little less of the jitters. Watching both teams plan their strategy suddenly made Battlefield sound like a lot more complex and interesting than it did to me previously compared to Counterstrike which I play. I guess the game consists of more elements, making it more strategy based definitely.

Daniel brought true meaning to the word KELONG! with his "brilliant" idea of bribing either one of the teams for $100 of their winnings with some footage of the opposing team's strategy talk. Of course his idea didn't work out heh.

We also had the opportunity to speak to a couple of really "BORED" but extremely sweet and supportive girlfriends of the finalists. "Ai darlings, you all better 'ketok' your boyfriends if they win da money ok!" heheh… and if can't beat them join them lah!

We even spotted the really "HAPPENING" mum who came to support her little boy (ok he's not so little), she was such a sweetie and what do you know... she's quite a gamer herself too!

The Battlefield boys are a bunch of fun... you can sense that passion, enthusiasm and of course great friendship. Despite being opponents, you know they absolutely love each other. Great spontaneity there, keep it up boys... :)

All in all, it was a jolly fun experience interviewing the guys, whom I'm sure had a great time too. Big kisses and thanks to Ripplevox, MTV Pop Inc once again for the opportunity.

in the infamous words of Nacho Libre...
ooxxOxooXxoOx.. Rachel :)
