Alright, on to the interview. Verona and I waited for quite some time for Jasmine to put on her make up. (Though in my opinion, she looks just as good without the make up!) We were greeted by the doll in her simple t-shirt and jeans, looking all fresh and ready to start the interview. I took a deep deep breath...

"Congratulation for coming so far. You are in the top 3! So, how does it feel?"
Jasmine feels that is definitely great to be in the top 3, to have made it so far, no doubt! She thinks that she doesn't deserve any special treatment as it is a competition after all. But she does feel privileged to be part of Singapore Idol. In addition, Jasmine is extremely proud of Jonathan and Hady, who have been really nice to her all this while. When asked for her opinion of their singing, Jasmine commented that they both have their unique styles. They are both very good, but more importantly, they are comfortable with who they are, signs of a good singer.
Jasmine started singing at 7, and gradually improved over the years. In fact, she began writing songs 2 years ago even though she had never received proper training in that area. She is a pop singer, but the competition has exposed her to many other genres of music such as jazz, rock etc. Jasmine had watched the Forbidden City recently, and was inspired by the superb performance. When asked about her future plans, Jasmine replied that she would definitely do something related to music in the future.
Jasmine believes that Singapore does have the talent for music and went on to list examples of Dick Lee, Steph Sun, Kit Chan. Singapore will fare better in the Chinese industry. Currently, we are not very open and with godly singers like Mariah Carey (whom I assume is her idol), it will be very difficult to compete in the English sector.
When comparing between SI1 and SI2, Jasmine thinks that the major difference was the age and the style. In season 1, the singers were older and more matured. They were more experienced, so their choice of songs was very different from those in season 2. SI2 is slightly more light hearted as the contestants are younger, and with people like Paul Twohill, there is never a dull moment. The competition had given her many many interesting memories, one of which was the food. Lots and lots of food shared among the contestants.
My first impression of Jasmine? She was very friendly, the kind of girl who was not afraid to meet new people. Haha, we shook hands a total of four times, one for "hi", one to congratulate her, one for thank you, and one for "bye"
Here's her tips to all aspiring singers out there: Do not be afraid.
Confidence is very important as it helps to bring out the best in your voice. Got it? Yeah :D
