Mathilda, the singer believed by judges and fans to have the best vocals among all the contestants. I couldn't agree more. The results on Thursday truly came as a surprise because not many expected Mathilda to be voted off so early. Hmmm
Today's interview was quite different from the previous. Mady (What her friends call her) was very eloquent and graceful in her words. Unlike the previous interviewees, responses were usually short and sweet, straight to the point. The questions I prepared didn't last long, and I had to come up with a few more impromptu.
Apparently, Mady seemed to be coping with the results pretty well. She was able to get back to her normal life rather quickly. "Lots of sleeping and catching up," she said. Her favourite past time? Jamming with her friends!
Her passion in music started even before she was in primary school. Singing in the choir had helped train her vocal to what it is now, the beautiful and powerful voice. Her idol journey was definitely an enjoyable one. Like the previous idols, her best memories were those shared with the contestants cum friends. What really made her experience a rewarding one was not the fame nor the fortune, but the friendships that blossomed over the many months of singing. For now, Mathilda has no plans of making an album, though she may consider it in the future. Her priority would be finishing the documentary about the music scene in Singapore. In her opinion, there are definitely musical talents here, but the difficulty of getting a permit is stopping many from taking on a musical career. What we really need is to provide these people with opportunities to exhibit their talent. Here's wishing her all the best with her documentary ;) (Oh, the ripplevox t-shirt we gave her? She love, luv, luv it very much! Yay!)
One problem I realized I had was that I tend to ask very standard stuff. I need to widen the scope of my questions and be able to think on the spot. Oh well, new day, new experience. Still, today's interview was great. Thank you (Starhub) for the goodie bag which contained really nice gifts like the Chronicles of Narnia notebook, and the cute starhub dog. My favourite was definitely the Cartoon Network photo frame*, not because of the pictures but because it had a really unique design. So cool, haha!
*I think it is a photo frame, but Sis thinks it is a handphone holder as it is too small to fit a photo. Hehz…
