Today, it is the interview with the fifth ousted contestant from the Singapore idol. This is also one of the most unexpected results as Rahimah has both the vocal ability and the rock star chick package.
The interview took place in the evening at the MediaCorp office. Rahimah as usual, was dressed in a rock chic outfit and was eager to share her experiences with the Ripplevox viewers!
She confessed that she expected herself to bow out of the competition right after reviewing her own performance. She was disappointed with her performance and even had a bet with Joakim that she would be eliminated.
With that, Joakim now owes her $50! However, she does miss the stress from the competition and it propels her to work harder every time. When asked about her closest pal in the Idol journey, she replied with no hesitation, She's none other than Jasmine Tye.
When asked if there is anything going on between her and Joakim judging from the way Joakim cried when she was eliminated, it was a flat no. She believed that it was because that Joakim lost his bet against her and was feeling sad. However, we bet to differ. We'll let the readers decide for themselves what they think it actually was. Rahimah also point out that the reason why she was not popular enough could be due to the fact that she was not being crazy enough when the cameras were rolling. She was trying hard to maintain her rocker image that she may look too serious. Thus, audience at home may not find her too friendly.
Although she is already out of the spotlight, Rahimah still hopes that someone out there will take note of her and groom her in the media industry. She still hopes to work in this entertainment industry. When asked if she will take part in another reality contest, she joking said that she is waiting for the Singapore version of survivor. Like Gayle, she also has aspirations to join the popular American reality television contest, project runway.
With the conclusion of her Idol journey, Rahimah had learnt that the music industry is not as easy as she had thought it was. One cannot be complacent and has to work hard consistently. She is planning to return to her fashion design course early next year and be in the volleyball team.
