  Francis with Emilee Kang
Interview with Emilee
"Ah gong, don't worry! It is okay. I'm fine."

This was the assurance Emilee gave her grandpa on the night that she was voted out of Singapore idol. Her family was behind her throughout the competition and her sudden exit caused disappointment to many.

According to Emilee, her grandpa could not sleep on the night she was voted out. Close cousins of hers had tears flow down their cheeks when Emilee's name was announced.

These were just some of the many captivating moments on the night of the Singapore Idol results show. Throughout the interview this afternoon, Emilee remained strong and constantly stressed that her departure was not a failure. To her, it is a new beginning to life. From this singing contest, she knew nothing matters as long as you strive towards your dreams. Although at the age of 28 and being the oldest of all contestants, she still managed to become the top 12 Singapore Idol finalists. A message from her to all her fans out there would be to strive for what you believe in and let nothing come into your way. She thinks that everyone who likes singing needs an experience like Singapore idol, "it will change your life forever!"

"Every girl has this sixth sense in them." During the results show, Emilee had a nudging feeling inside her that tells her that she is going home that night. However, she claims that she had that feeling almost every week! She maintained her stance that it is important to accept the outcome and move on with life.

When asked who she'll miss most among the remaining contestants, her answer was immediate. It was none other than her former band mate, Hardy.

They had been in the same band for the past 4 years. In fact, they were next to one another while queuing up for the auditions! It was Hardy who encouraged Emilee to join at the first place too.

On a whole, Emilee is very happy with how she carried herself throughout the competition. She felt that and wanted to go further in the competition. She left the competition with dignity and had nothing to be ashamed of.

At the end of the interview, Emilee burst into fits asking us to write something about her little dream besides singing. That is acting! Yes it is.

She badly wants to be an actress and if any casting director is reading this, Emilee wants that role!

With that, we concluded our interview and we now have 9 contestants left in the competition. Who will win the glory of the Singapore Idol? Stay tuned to find out!

Till then,
Francis.
