Firstly, i got to thank Ripplevox for this great opportunity to get to watch this fabulous show. Back to my thoughts on this movie, Hairspray was a truly original and engaging piece of theater. The music set the tone of the show and along with the 60s backdrop, made the audience feel like they are brought back to that period in time, and i have to say that the dancing was fantastic. The plot had in it, both humor and sadness and also an important message about diversity and belief in yourself. This movie can be compared to the previous box office musicals such as Chicago and Moulin Rouge. Altogether a great broadway experience! To summarise the show, The audience loved it, brilliant acting, awesome dance moves, engaging plot, fantastic music and great lightning and set design. Not to mention Queen Latifah, who stood out in her role as Motormouth Maybelle. Signing off, Benjamin |
