Never in my wildest dream have I thought I could be on TV, and even wilder, on MTV POP INC! Alright, even if I did get a chance to appear on MTV POP INC, I thought I would have been the backdrop. But that day, 16th January 2007, my wildest dream came true. And even better, I got a chance to play a reporter for a day at the launch of the Burning Crusade, the first expansion pack for the popular online role playing game, World of Warcraft and appear on the segment of MTV POP INC. As I arrived at Suntec City Exhibition Centre, I was stunned by the many people present at the event. I thought to myself, “could I cope with this?”, “could I remember my lines?”, but thankfully, I met some wonderful people like Joseph, the producer, and Robert, the cameraman and a few others. They were professional yet friendly and made me feel comfortable. Oh! And not forgetting, the ever beautiful Denise Keller. She gave me some encouragement before I interviewed the CEO of Asiasoft, the distributor of the Burning Crusade. One might think Denise is stuck up because she is way up there, but nooooooooooooo, she is basically very warm and friendly. I admire her confidence that she exudes, it just makes her whole appearance more attractive. The event I must say was a successful one. The turn out was G-R-E-A-T and there were many people participating in the games at the event. I could really see the excitement on all the people’s faces who were queuing up. Even me, a non-Warcraft player felt the excitement as I walked about the event with the whole crew. And the feeling was very surreal, but I sure felt fantastic. I mean for once, you get to experience the job of a celebrity! It was tough I must say, being able to focused with all eyes on you, being steady with everyone watching you. But, the job, is FULFILLING. When the whole thing was over, I heaved a sigh of relief and smiled. Gave a sigh of relief because I need not worry about forgetting my lines anymore and smiled because that day was one of the best days of my entire life, and probably one that I would remember forever.
