Wassup?!?! Yeah it’s ur Ripplevox member Kenneth once again and this time I got to interview Hong Kong superstar Chow Yun Fatt. Being an artsy movie buff, I was thrilled to cover a story on Zhang Yimour’s latest film “Curse of the Golden Flower”

Even though this is my second time playing MTV VJ, but that didn’t dilute my excitement one bit. The day began with the press conference at Shangri-la Hotel with star of the movie Chow Yun Fatt.  The interview remained candid amongst the myriad of questions and Mr Chow answered each question with depth and humour, just like a seasoned pro! I even managed to squeeze in 2 questions and I guess my inquisitiveness on the academy awards really left an impression. I was even more pleasantly delighted to find the questions I asked appearing in the press the next day. Just the motivation I need to boost my dreams of becoming a journalist!!

Then came Vivocity, venue of the gala premiere and the star-studded red carpet. Met the MTV crew 2.5 hours before the red carpet just to ‘camp’ at a good spot. Glad it paid off cos I got to interview Chow Yun Fatt right at the red carpet! He said something weird like “..MTV has good movies”, but heck! At least he said something instead of giving a wave like what most of the other reporters got J. It was kinda nerve wrecking while doing my links cos I had a million (ok.. maybe I’m exaggerating, but there were really a lot of pple) pair of eyes starring at me. But it also felt good cos it made me feel like a star. Haha..

The gala premiere turned out to be a really grand event being littered with many celebs and A-listers. There were even ministers present! The movie itself really lived up to its expectation. Everyone was given a visual feast with the stunning cinematography and intriguing story. My admiration for Zhang Yimou, Chow Yun Fatt and Gong li only grew deeper and I give this movie 2 thumbs up!
