  The Master of Dance Music
Interview with Louie Vega

1.30am, Dec 2, Exclusive interview with Master of Dance Music, Lil’ Louie Vega, Zouk Singapore

Hello all =) Right, the time now is 3.30am and I’ve just finished filming my exclusive interview with the Master of Dance Music, Lil’ Louie Vega at Zouk Singapore and yup, I’ve I have to agree without any reservation that the entire experience was a pure 200% kick-ass fun!!!!

But sad to say, the wait wasn’t fun at all. As there was some miscommunication here and there, Louie arrived at 1am instead of the planned 11.30pm. The 1.5 hour wait made me more anxious than ever as each second tick by. I can’t help but imagine “oh! Is he gonna be some sort of mega celeb from the states that will be late for an hour or so for interview? Like what rumors suggests for all mega celebrities?” I don’t know. That question was left open-ended. I was pacing up and down, in and out of the set and mumbling to myself non-stop. (Sign of anxiety, according to Anne)

As the crew was busy setting up the set and lighting at around 11pm, I was trying to overcome the hundreds of butterflies that’s in my stomach and getting those opening and closing lines in my brain cells. But, it was tougher than what I’ve expected. c”,) Hey hey, not suggesting that the lines were tough but when you know that you are going to be on camera and want to finish each segment in one take, that pressure is “MIND-EXPLODING”. In addition, I kept asking myself what if Louie is this and what if Louie is that. I must confess that in that short 1.5 hours, the frequency of “What ifs” asked is more than what anyone could imagine.

But thank God that I have an understanding and real cool Producer that one could asked for. Anne was constantly reminding me to relax myself and not be too stressed up. Thanks to her, I’m glad that I’m able to complete the entire recording in less than 4 takes. Phew!! Thanks Production Crew…

Plus I’ve always envied those that are able to appear in front of screen with that camera light on them, holding that mic with “MTV” on it and never fail to attract that hundreds of curious “eye-balls” from the surrounding crowd. Well, I’ve finally get to experienced that. It was soooooooo fulfilling to be there in Zouk where I did my opening and closing. Those attentions that you get are so cool! Now that’s what I call a MTV VJ.

And after the long wait, Mr. Louie finally arrived. He was a lot more humble and nice than I project him to be. Everything went smoothly with this nice fatherly guy which I conduct my interview with and I felt really comfortable in front of camera with him when we were chatting without any barrier. Erm, maybe not that thick a barrier as I thought it would be. Haha… But no doubt, though he’s The Master of Dance music, there’s no airs from this guy at all.

All in all, a big thank you to Veron and her RV team, Producer Anne from MTV and her production crew. You guys rock!

Till the next time, Aif Wiedersen!!!

Peace. Kel
