What can I say? Thanks to RippleVox and MTV Pop Inc Iappeared on MTV twice! Being interviewed by fellow RV member at Noise Fest 06for my blog skin award and being an MTV VJ the next at E2MAX’s firstanniversary party. Woohoo. And the best part is, MTV kept airing the snippetsover and over again for the whole week. Is this my road to stardom? Yeh rightmister! But you have to admit it, lemme see a show of hands who has that tinydesire inside of you to be a VJ on MTV? Well I did, and boy it came true. My assignment was quite simple and exciting in a way. Hangaround at E2Max, playing some computer games and get to watch Casino Royale. Sothere I was at E2Max Anniversary party at Cine Leisure, on a Sunday morningwhen it was still quiet, walking up and down trying to remember my lines whilethe production crew were setting up their camera and sound checking. I mustadmit that its really nerve-racking at the start coz it was my first ever bitof hosting and holding a mic and that the camera is focusing on nothing but metalking! But if you think about it, hosting is much easier thanacting or singing even! So yeh, it went all right with just a couple of takesand… I got nothing against the production crew, but its kind of weird when theysay “just be yourself, you’re gonna be just…fine”. But after I did it “beingmyself”; they come to you and like “maybe if you can drag these words, smile alittle more and don’t move too much”. But… that’s not “being myself”. Ok!Moving on. After completing my opening and closing lines, we had someshort shots of me-self walking around, checking out some cool stuff like tees, shades, women accessories that were sold in conjunction with the event. Prettyneat I must say but I didn’t have any cash with me so I had to give it a pass. What I didn’t pass was playing some new games that weregoing on at the event especially my favourite, as it seems now, Company OfHeroes! It’s like this real-time strategy war game where you can lead your ownplatoon of no-nonsense, to-die-for soldiers at your disposal to accomplishmissions. Sweet! As it approaches noon, it was time for our Exclusivescreening of Casino Royale. The crowd eventually started to grow in numbers andit was a packed audience. RV not only gave free tickets but it came withpopcorns and a drink. As a Singaporean, that is actually a very good offer.Very generous of RV! *Thumbs up* Casino Royale was amazing! The storyline, the actionsequences, the Bond chicks and the rides were fascinating, seriously! Im notmuch of a suck up person so you have to believe me when I say this! Go getyourself a ticket and watch it! I don’t wish to spill the beans of the moviebut it’s really worth your nine bucks! Eighteen bucks if you bring yourgirlfriend along and its still worth it! Luckily, the movie as I said was brilliant so I was stillawake by the end of it to quickly interview fellow RV members to ask somequestions with regards to the movie. With that aside, my MTV VJ experience sadly came to an end.I was abit more confident towards to end, probably becoz my girlfriend wasthere to support me every step of the way, thank you sayang and also theproduction crew as we had a good relation and I felt more comfortable withthem. It was definitely an unforgettable experience! Thanks RV, Starhub, Veron for talent spotting (muahaha) and MTV that made this possible! Now I have toget a DVD recorder to record myself on national television and tell mygrandchildren how famous grandpa was back in the 2000s. Haha!
