[Plot Summary]
Role Models is a comedy about two energy drink promoters who get arrested for crashing a truck and then sentenced to 150 hours of community service in lieu of jail.
Their assignment? To each play big brother to a kid with major adjustment problems, and that's where the real fun begins. Sensible Danny (Paul Rudd) gets paired with Augie (Christopher Mintz-Plasse) who is role-playing geek with self esteem issues, while Wheeler (Seann William Scott) is assigned to vulgarity-spewing woman-obessed pre-teen. While they seem to have nothing in common at first, the Biggies and the Littles soon rub each others' corners off and actually learn something about life from each other, and eventually redeem themselves.
[My Take on Role Models]
Role Models is a no-holds barred comedy, and the laughter gets only gets harder, culminating in a climax of delirious proportions. While I initially felt uncomfortable with the strong language, the wicked banter soon removed any reservations I had. I liked the founder of Sturdy Wings who delights in reminding Danny & Wheeler of her past drug addiction, as it is so refreshing from the usual holier-than-thou attitude one has come to expect from such people. The casting was good and it was evident that the cast had a good time filming the movie. My favourite part of the movie was the climatic battle scene where our Role Models and their charges form a fledgling nation of their own modeled after a popular rock band (look out for the black kid, he is HILARIOUS) and proved all naysayers wrong.
I would recommend this movie for anyone who needs a good hour of silly humour and laughs :)Thank you Ripplevox, for giving me the chance to watch this movie, it was an absolute blast.
