Angus, Thongs and Perfect Snogging is based on a very popular series of books by Louise Rennison , written in the style of a diary of  a 14 year old girl, Georgia Nicolson.  I loved the books so much and when I learnt about the movie, I was really excited.  But never did I expect to watch it for free and an exclusive preview (!).  Thank you so much for that, Ripplevox. 

I enjoyed the movie very much.  It’s simply hilarious!  Now, light hearted comedies are my favourite category of movies.  But this one holds a special place in my heart for the fact that the main character, Georgia is a teen girl dealing with teen stuffs, such as annoying parents (parents are not annoying but you think they are when you are a 14 year old), school, self-esteem, bitchy Miss Popular of your class, hormone changes, annoying kid sister, etc.  It is something we can all relate to. 

In between dealing with all these, Georgia has very important ambitions in life; getting a Sex God boyfriend and making herself pretty.  So when she found the perfect guy, Robbie who just moved to town from London, she gets into her Operation-trap-Sex-God plan and do whatever she thinks will win her the heart of SG (Sex God).  It wasn’t at all easy when the girl she hates and who hates her most in school is somehow involved in that plan.  But you could learn throughout the movie that nothing is impossible.  Even though it was hard since she’s not the prettiest and most popular girl in school, in the end she manages to get what she wants as she tries hard.  And girls, this movie will teach you no matter how unhappy with certain parts of your body, you are perfect in the eyes of the one who loves you.  This message from the movie is sure to make some of us feel better.  You will also witness G growing up and learning things along the way and taking care of her family. 

Overall, it is a very good and refreshing movie you should all watch.  We all need a bit of British comedy here and there.  I say ask a girlfriend or two or a bunch of them out on a movie date.  Have a rolling good time laughing and reminiscing about the good old day.  Though watching this movie with a bunch of girlfriends will be total bliss, you could also bring a sister (maybe that annoying younger sis?) or the boyfriend.  I’m sure your boyfriend will enjoy the movie just as much.
