Yoo hoo!
Francis's back in the house! Many thanks to Mandy for helping me carry out my duty while I was away for another very important engagement.
Today, I had a one-to-one interview session with the runner-up of Singapore Idol, Jonathan Leong! As Ken had said, no matter what happened, he is already a winner! It was a busy day for Jon as he had to attend a record number of interviews. Alright, I was exaggerating, its just more than the usual.
Firstly, Jonathan wants to thank all his fans for supporting him throughout this competition. As he said, without them, he would not be performing on stage. He had never expected himself to be among the top 2 finalists for the Idol show but was exhilarated when he learnt of it. Jon says that it takes a lot of hard work to get to where he is today. It is also important to always stay grounded and give your all to each and every performance.
This competition has taught him more about understanding himself and the kind of music he likes, He also learnt more about talking to reporters and also to smile more! As much as Jon wanted the to win the Idol crown, he was not disappointed at the results. He stressed that he don't mind singing Chinese songs in the future, as he likes singing both English and Chinese songs. However, there are no talks of any contracts as of yet. Jonathan's greatest inspiration is none other than all his fans. It is the fans that spur him on every time, especially during the times when he did not perform up to his mark. He stressed that the final two of both Season one and two are completely different people. He thinks people like to compare the both seasons and there are no similarities whatsoever. Jon thinks that Taufik and Hady sound different and that he likes Jazz while Sylvester does not.
I concluded the interview by presenting Jon with a limited edition ripplevox tee!
Till then,
Francis
